Intelligent Notes ("we", "us", "our") operates https://intelligent-notes.com (the "Service"). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our three application surfaces: free.html (local notebook), app.html (Author Edition), and scientific.html (Scientific Edition).

2. What Data We Collect – By Product Surface

Payment data: Processed by Stripe. We receive only payment status, last‑4 digits, and subscription plan – never full card numbers.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Provide the specific surface you access (free, Author, or Scientific).
- Authenticate you via Google OAuth / GitHub OAuth.
- Sync your notes to D1 (Author/Scientific only).
- Run AI features (Gemini, extended AI worker).
- Manage subscriptions, cancellations, and billing via Stripe webhooks.
- Improve security and prevent abuse.
4. Legal Basis (UK GDPR)
We rely on: performance of a contract, legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention), consent (non‑essential cookies), and legal obligation.
5. Data Sharing
We share data only with Stripe, Google/GitHub (OAuth), Cloudflare D1/Workers, and Gemini API. We do not sell your data to third parties.
6. International Transfers
Your data may be transferred outside the UK (e.g., USA). We use UK‑approved Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Data Retention
free.html: no data retained on our servers.app.html/scientific.html: account data retained while active, plus 30 days after deletion, then anonymised. Financial records retained for 6 years.- AI logs: deleted after 30 days.
8. Your Rights
You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or objection. Withdraw consent anytime. Contact [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
9. Cookies & Local Storage
Essential cookies (session, auth). Analytics only with your consent. free.html uses browser localStorage for notes – not a cookie and not sent to us.
10. Children
The Service is not for children under 13 (or 16 in some regions). We do not knowingly collect their data.
